2011 elantra - manual transmission out?
Anybody have one? Guessing more reliable than auto. True that stick offers less options? Would want 16 or 17 wheels too
Manuals have clutches, automatics do not. If there is no clutch, there is no $2K clutch rebuild.
17" wheels are great. Well, wait, no... not really.
17" wheels mean the tires are more expensive to replace, and the rims are more susceptible to damage over uneven road surfaces due to the lower tire profile. And they are more expensive to begin with. 16" are fine for an Elantra.
I don't know about the Elantra, but the Sonata has paddle-shifters on the wheel, like F1 cars.
So you can still shift if you want to. You just don't HAVE to. And no working the clutch, either.
Also, a stick in itself doesn't mean less options... but Hyundais are set up so that the trim levels with more options available can't be acquired with a stick. I'm not a big fan of that, but the market says 'we want automatics' so that's what they provide.
As an avid fan of manual transmissions, based on my recent experiences with automatics I really think you would be happy with one.
