Does anyone remember Richmond 500 I think 1974..Petty taking out several sections of the turn 4 catch fense?
Bobby Allison spun Petty on or about the last lap. Rear of Pettys dodge rode up and over the gaurdrail sliding sideways and taking out much of the catch fence in the 4th corner. He then slid back on to the track still in front of Allison and continued on to win. I was there as a kid. One of my great childhood memories. Would be very interested in any pics

I doubt you'll find anyone who has seen that, since they only started televising Nascar in 1979. You might be lucky enough to see it on a show called "Back in the Day", hosted by Dale Jr. on SPEED Channel. Wouldn't hurt to email them and see if they have that in their archives, maybe it'll air in the future, and if they do you might just see yourself in the crowd !!!
