What do you think of the Car Brand Jaguar?

Do you still think Jaguar holds alot of prestige, especially with cars out like the Jaguar xfr which has won many awards and the Jaguar Xkr.

I consider that:
Mercedes - builds under engined cars.
BMW - builds cars which have no character whatsoever. Yes, I'd take a Jaguar XFR over a top of the range BMW 5 series both being the same price, because BMWs are only driven by wankers.
Audi - builds cars which are soulless.

Jaguar builds cars which evoke more emotion than any of the three you've suggested. Anyone with a sense of history will realise that Jaguar has a racing pedigree which extends into Le Mans, Formula One and Touring Car racing.
Ronnie Biggs, the Great Train Robber, once remarked that the only car he'd steal as a getaway car was the Mark 2 Jaguar. Inspector Morse also had a Mark 2.

To be honest if I saw someone in their mid 20s driving a Jaguar XFR, I'd either think that they were borrowing their dad's car, that they were a drug dealer or that they were a Premiership Football player. No "normal" people in their 20s can afford a Jaguar, most of them are up to their eyeballs in debt trying to pay for their uni fees.

There is a wrong answer, and that wrong answer belongs to your friend. If he thinks that Jaguar does not hold as much prestige anymore, then he's obviously an idiot.
