What happened to Trevor hoffman of the Milwaukee Brewers?

Trevor Hoffman, a Milwaukee Brewers right hander, and a record holder of MLB all time saves, enters his 18th season.
Last year, his first season with Milwaukee, he enjoyed another great season, 55G, 3W-2L, 37SV, 1.83ERA.
But, this season so far, his stats are 14G, 1W-3L, 5SV, 13.15ERA. He failed a half opportunities of SV chances.

Trevor's best pitch has always been that devastating change-up. The problem with a change-up, however, is that it relies on the ability to get your other pitches over (especially the fastball) with proper speed and mechanics.

Look at it this way: A pure power guy like Jonathan Broxton can struggle with the slider and still fall back on a 97 mph fastball. A guy like Mariano Rivera can rely on a single pitch, the cutter, because it moves so much and he can still bring it in the low 90s.

If a change-up guy doesn't have his good fastball or curve to compliment the change, then his "best" pitch is basically a batting-practice fastball. I think that's what Trevor went through his last year in SD and is experiencing now. As he's gotten older, he's probably had to change his mechanics to get the same "oomph" on the fastball so the hitters are more able to pick up the different pitches.
