Phillies are defending champs and the Yanks missed the playoffs.....yet the Yanks are team to beat?
I gurantee you if the roles were reveresed and the Yankees were defending champions and the Phillies had the best record, the media would still deem the Yankees as the team to beat....lol. Typical New York bias.
Attention NY fans nobody fears the Yanks. Joba is on a 70 pitch pitch count....Burnett is getting rocked, imagine how he'll fare against quality teams in the playoffs....Pettite....nough said....and C.C has never pitched well in the postseason
It amuses me how Yankees fans deem their Yanks as the team to beat....how did you'll fare in the playoffs last yea-- oh wait you didnt make it.
The PHILLIES are the team to beat but Yankees fans can continue to think they are all they want. You know what they say the higher there buit up the harder they fall.
This is coming from a hardcore phillie fan but... Last year is what it is; last year. Defending World Champs or not, each team makes changes in players, staff, etc. so saying that in August, the phillies are the team to beat, just because they won LAST YEAR'S world series, is foolish.
Yes, we are a good team, a great team, if we could just get our RISP to home plate and if we had a STEADY closer.
The Yanks seem to be on a roll right NOW, so therefore, they are considered the team to beat.
And I pray that we get our closer and "small ball" game in order for this post-season! So that we will be the team to beat!!
