Rare Gold
What are the strongest and most rare 2nd generation pokemon for gold and silver?
I'm working on setting up the ultimate line up. As of now I have a mewtew and a celebi that I know are two of the strongest. I'm thinking Nidokind will be another good choice. Any ideas? If you list your ideas please state your reason why you're choosing these.
So far you've only named one 2nd gen pokemon:celebi and only one "ultimate" (uber-tiered pokemon):Mewtwo (thats TWO not TEW) Nidoking and Nidoqueen are both UU tiered. The ultimate 2nd generation lineup, that is, only pokemon from the 2nd generation and only uber or OU tiered would include Ho-oh and Lugia which are the only uber 2nd gen pokemon besides wobbuffet (wobbuffet is uber because its almost impossible to take out or escape from without taking out yourself, the ultimate pain in the arse of pokemon despite its tiny moveset and crappy stats, excluding HP which is one of the highest in the game) and, maybe Tyranitar and Suicune (the only one of the legendary dogs in OU) definitely celebi, and oh idk Kingdra? Remember, rare doesn't always mean strong and vice versa. you could also check out scizor, or even forretress to name a few. Also, do you mean pokemon obtainable in HG/SS or do you mean actual generation 2 pokemon (#s 152-251) because that makes a LOT of difference. Lastly, PLEASE don't take my word for this, "ultimate" is largely a matter of opinion if you're looking for pokemon with awesomeness value that look cool your gonna get creamed on wi-fi so have a look at some of the sites in the sources to get some balance and strategy in there before just slapping together pokemon with a little shock value. check out smogon's tiers and serebii's pokedex to get the right balance of srategy, type coverage and awesomeness. It's easier than it looks. But if you really want to be a lazy-arse p*ssy about it then my team I slapped together off the top of my head in 5 seconds went like this: Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi, Tyranitar, Suicune, Kingdra.
